Senior Tax Accountant

Position Summary

The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for assigned tax, and compliance functions and processes within the Finance Department. This is an internal, not a public accounting role. The Senior Tax Accountant will perform and/or review the firm\xe2\x80\x99s tax returns, regulatory compliance tasks, and research tax issues. This is a remote or hybrid role and the Senior Tax Accountant will report to the Finance Manager.

The firm has one available position in either Dover, OH, Cleveland, OH, Atlanta, GA, Austin, TX, Long Beach, CA, Bellevue, WA, Malvern, PA, Portland, OR, or Plantation, FL.

Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Primarily responsible for filing the firm\xe2\x80\x99s partnership and composite tax returns for federal and various states and cities

\xc2\xb7 Research new tax rules, local tax and compliance requirements for state and local jurisdictions

\xc2\xb7 Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks to ensure compliance with professional, local, state, and federal regulations

\xc2\xb7 Review personal property, and other various multistate tax returns for multiple locations and entities

\xc2\xb7 Respond to communication from various taxing authorities

\xc2\xb7 Supervise and mentor Tax staff

\xc2\xb7 Additional duties and projects as assigned

Background and Skills

\xc2\xb7 Exhibit a strong understanding of accounting and tax rules

\xc2\xb7 Ability to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload, effectively manage a variety of concurrent and shifting priorities

\xc2\xb7 Ability to research tax rules and efficiently organize and present findings

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of local and state tax rules

\xc2\xb7 Superior organizational and follow-through skills, performing work accurately with strong attention to detail.

\xc2\xb7 Display strong analytical skills, including the ability to gather information, conduct analyses, present findings, and create solutions

\xc2\xb7 Strong computer skills, including solid skill in the Microsoft Office suite, in particular with Excel, as well as experience using tax software systems

\xc2\xb7 Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Accounting or Finance, plus 3-5 years of tax experience. CPA license is a plus.

\xc2\xb7 Compensation: $76,000 - $85,000 depending on experience. More is possible if experience dictates.
