Brivo is looking for a highly creative, passionate, and skilled Sr Software Engineer to design and develop new web services for a global security system serving millions of users. As part of the Video Team at Brivo, you will work with people who are dedicated to creating a great customer experience, focused on quality in every aspect of their work, and are constantly seeking to learn and improve. For this role, we are seeking candidates that are open to traveling to our Bethesda, MD office 1-2 times a quarter (every three months).

In this role you are expected to:

• Work closely with your Team Lead to aid with project scoping
• Partner with other teams to support the company\'s mission through architectural and technical improvement while taking ownership of the applications you work on
• Code 70% of your time, design solutions, and participate in code reviews
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA, and other engineers to design and deliver high-quality features to production
• Work within an Agile team to complete code reviews, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and feature reviews
• Mentor team members to improve processes and promote the best practices

About the Team

The Video Team helps Brivo customers derive value from their video systems and improve the way people interact with buildings. We develop solutions ranging from 3rd party integrations to new video-enabled products and services. Join our team to help us build the best platform for Smart Spaces.

About You

• 5+ years experience with React/Typescript and MaterialUI in production applications
• 5+ years experience with Vue framework and Serverless development using AWS
• Experience with Web Components (custom elements, shadow DOM, and HTML templates)
• Strong foundation in web applications and services with modern software architecture
• Experience working with Jenkins or similar CI tooling
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work in the EST time zone

Optional experience to make you stand out:

• Experience with video streaming, image processing, and WebRTC
