Job Description




In BARDS (Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences), a distinguished department within our company\xe2\x80\x99s renowned Research and Development division, quantitative scientists, in partnership with other subject matter experts, apply state-of-the art scientific methodologies and tools to enable the discovery, development, regulatory approval, manufacturing, and marketing of medical drugs and vaccines for the benefit of patients and global human health.

Responsibilities:

Provides data analytic solutions to a diverse set of drug / vaccine research and development (R&D) projects.

Ensures that sound scientific principles and analytic methods are applied.

Utilizes data analytic methods including statistical modeling, machine learning, and visualization.

Interacts with people with diverse background and expertise, including research scientists, clinical scientists, regulatory experts, IT specialists, and other teams in our research and development division.

Primary activities:

Serves as data analytic representative in the cross-functional teams for product discovery and development.

Ensures that study designs are consistent with project objectives.

Identifies technical or other potential problems arising in the design, conduct, and analysis of the projects, proposes solutions and carries them out.

Identifies opportunities to add value to drug / vaccine R&D programs.

Analyzes data and interprets results from non-clinical, clinical or real-world data.

Develops software programs, algorithms, and automated processes

Applies and implements various data analytic techniques and methods.

Orally presents and prepares written reports to effectively communicate analysis results to audience with diverse background and expertise.

Provides responses to queries relating to study design, analysis, and interpretation posed by the research scientists, clinical scientists, and regulatory agencies.

Is involved in research activities for innovative statistical methods

Education Minimum Requirement:

Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related disciplines or

A Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.

Required Experience and Skills:

Solid knowledge of statistical principles and methodologies

Demonstrated strong programming skills, especially in R language

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to function well both independently and collaboratively

Demonstrated interest in data analytic methodology research and in application of novel methods to real-world problems

Demonstrated ability to learn, be proactive and motivated, and consistently focus on details and prompt execution

Ability to collaborate with scientists and work on multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Experience and Skills:

Programming experience in Python

Knowledge of various Machine Learning methods, including deep learning

Knowledge of generating, processing, and analyzing large and complex data generated by modern life science technologies.

Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate\xe2\x80\x99s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected salary range: $107,600.00 - $169,400.00
