The Team The Office of the Chief Communications Officer (CCO) team is responsible for ensuring strategic and operational alignment within the division and across the foundation, through strategy planning and development, business operations, measurement and insights, portfolio management, and process/project development and management.

Your Role

The Senior Program Officer (SPO) is responsible for providing Communications Measurement & Evaluation support to foundation communications strategies.

*This position is a limited-term position for 9 months. Relocation will not be provided.

Position Reports to: Deputy Director, Measurement & Insights

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do

Lead news and social media analysis for reputation monitoring.

Use social listening tools to translate real-time supervising data into thoughtful insights/takeaways with actionable consequences.

Serve as Measurement and Insights lead on team responsible for issues and reputational risk management.

Lead vendors involved in the production and collection of communications data. Lead in developing and maintaining scorecards and dashboards with KPIs throughout the year.

Develop and implement tools/systems to measure the outputs, outcomes and impact of the foundation\xe2\x80\x99s communications work.

Collaborate with the Strategy, Planning and Management team in the development of materials for meetings with foundation leadership.

Build measurement frameworks for digital communication interventions that include the development of theories of change, KPIs, and learning agendas.

Support the implementation of global public opinion research projects to advise communication design, including both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.

Your Experience

You have demonstrated skills and/or expertise in evaluating digital communications campaigns as well as media analytics more broadly. You are proficient at social and traditional media analytics, digital media monitoring, network and sentiment analysis, and owned channel performance. Experience using public opinion research methods (quantitative and qualitative) is a plus.

Experience setting up digital data collection activities \xe2\x80\x93 other evaluation methods a plus \xe2\x80\x93 as well as visualization and reporting.

Experience using social listening and media analysis tools such as: Brandwatch, Meltwater, Cision, Quid, etc

Practical expertise in a professional capacity (preferably in a client serving organization, PR Agency, or advocacy organization/sector NGO) of communication measurement and evaluation strategies, as well as project and/or program management.

Experience working with change logics, behavioral science and evaluation approaches as they relate to communication. This role has a heavy emphasis on digital communication.

Proficiency building multi-channel measurement frameworks, mapping indicators to objectives, outcomes and goals.

Advanced practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot -tables and macros, and strong data visualization skills in PowerPoint.

Proficient at communicating data in a visually attractive, compelling, and comprehensible manner through scorecards, dashboards, charts or infographics.

Experience crafting projects in communications and advocacy. Specifically, developing theories of change, indicators for evaluating success, and reporting.

Experience in the area of media relations a plus

Experience commissioning and/or implementing public opinion research (both quantitative and qualitative)

Availability to travel 25% of the time.

Digital agency experience a plus.

Experience in project management and managing vendors producing research and evaluations.

Preferred location is Seattle \xe2\x80\x93 DC also possible.

Education and Experience

5-10 years proven experience in similar role doing research/evaluation work.

PMP or other project management certification desired but not required

Experience working in non-profit/public health, government, communications / digital agency, or private sector organization is strongly preferred.

The typical salary range for this role is $149,800 to $278,700 USD. The exact offer will be determined by a variety of factors such as the candidate\xe2\x80\x99s individual skills, qualifications, and experience relative to the requirements of the role.
