The Senior Product Manager, Small Group Market establishes long-term strategic direction (3+ year timeframe) and provides ongoing management for one or more significant product areas based on consumer insights and analytics, competitive position, and business priorities. Manages design, development and launch of new, and enhancement of existing products across all markets and segments as assigned. The Product Manager, Senior develops recommendations, provides expert consultation, and performs assessments and analyses supporting corporate priorities, market strategies, product strategies and product launches.

As a leader on the Product and Market Solutions team, the Product Manager, Senior must have strong business acumen and product expertise, and be able to build aligned cross-functional teams to improve our products, support profitable growth, and transform the end-to-end experience for Premera members.

What you will do:

  • Owns and manages the insurance product portfolios for Small Group markets at Premera
  • Defines the roadmap (along with leadership) for the product area(s) to focus on customer outcomes, business impacts, and integration with key journeys, building the business case, ROI analysis, and lead stakeholder alignment for the plan to accomplish the product objectives.
  • Anticipates the impact of the changing healthcare and regulatory environment on existing market segments and products and propose strategies, tactics, and new or modified products accordingly.
  • Understands product performance and sets targets, using data to assess membership, revenues, costs, margin, competitive positioning, NPS, and other performance drivers.
  • Designs and develops products through final specifications using Agile approach. Create maintain and outline work in the product backlog.
  • Manages product performance and operations, throughout the product lifecycle. Identify improvement opportunities and problems that need to be addressed (feeding into the product backlog)
  • Work with product implementation team to develop and manage workplans for launch of new and revised products and sunsetting existing products. Identifies learning and process improvement opportunities for product lifecycle management.
  • Works with cross-functional teams and maintains strong relationships with business partners to achieve objectives, improve performance and remove obstacles. Tests new concepts and initiatives with Product team and leaders across the Enterprise.
  • Lead development of product-related communications, including RFPs, strategic presentations, and interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leads relationship with vendors that support products (selection, contracting, performance management, issue resolution, sunsetting)
  • Provide product expertise on company initiatives and other projects/tasks.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • As part of this role, you may be assigned internal controls derived from Premera\xe2\x80\x99s internal controls framework. You will be accountable for understanding the controls assigned to you, their impacts on Premera, and to ensure that they are operating effectively.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
What you will bring:
  • Graduate or professional degree with coursework in healthcare business, policy, or management (Required).
  • Eight (8) or more years of health care/health plan experience including product development and management experience (Required).
  • Professional designation (Required).
  • Four-year college degree with coursework, research or project work in health care.
  • Four (4) years of health care/health plan experience including product development and management.
  • Professional designation.
  • Familiarity with the Small Group healthcare market (eg. market rules, regulations, trends).
  • Experience with the health insurance product lifecycle.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate\xe2\x80\x99s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.

National Salary Range: $100,100.00 - $170,200.00

National Plus Salary Range: $113,100.00 - $192,300.00

*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
