What do we do?

Azure Summit Technology provides a wide range of multi-channel software defined radio products, innovative signal processing solutions and end-to-end mission payloads and systems for the full range of advanced RF applications including EW, radar, communications and multi-mode RF operations. Systems can be tailored to meet a variety of requirements for bandwidth, dynamic range, number of channels, and computational resources. Supported platforms range from resource-constrained small UAVs and wearable devices to manned aircraft and maritime vessels.

What will you do?

Azure Summit Technology is currently seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist. This position is based in Melbourne, Florida, with occasional travel to suppliers and other Azure locations.

The successful applicant will become part of a world class business operations team and work collaboratively with an outstanding group of geographically dispersed employees to support development and production of advanced electronic systems for the DoD and other customers.

This position is primarily responsible for sourcing, negotiating, awarding, documenting, and managing the procurement cycle for both material and services-based requirements. In this role, the individual will be responsible for placing requirements on order (purchase order/subcontract) in the most efficient, cost effective, and compliant manner. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, material procurement/subcontracts, supply base identification and selection, creating and issuing FAR/DFAR compliant Purchase Orders/Subcontracts with appropriate compliance file documentation.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensures that company and prime contract requirements are properly communicated to suppliers.
  • Develops and issues RFQs and RFPs.
  • Analyzes supplier quotes/proposals, uses source selection techniques (e.g., best value, adequate price competition, total cost of ownership), and performs cost/price analyses.
  • Establishes supplier negotiation objectives/strategies and leads negotiations.
  • Conducts formal negotiations (price, schedule, and supplier exceptions) to contractual requirements.
  • Assesses and negotiates exceptions to terms and conditions.
  • Executes to Azure and customer requirements, including government regulations (such as FAR/DFAR), public law, and Azure policies and procedures.
  • Prepares FAR/DFAR compliant Purchase Orders/Subcontracts compliance file documentation.
  • Places Purchase Orders of low/medium/high complexity and processes and manages a medium volume of POs across various programs.
  • Identifies supplier risks and opportunities.
  • Multi-tasks and performs in a dynamic, fast paced, changing environment.
  • Participates in and drives supplier management activities.
  • Makes supplier visits as required to ensure support of program and customer requirements and schedules.
  • Develops, negotiates, and manages long-term supplier agreements.
  • Leads cadences with suppliers and provides status to internal stakeholders.
  • Performs due diligence of suppliers prior to and post PO award.
  • Maintains and provides order and supplier delivery status.
  • Searches out and investigates qualified suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Develops new supply sources where needed.
  • Resolves receiving and accounts payable discrepancies.
  • Participates in management and customer meetings/reviews.
Basic Requirements
  • US citizenship status is required, due to the nature of the work and contract requirement
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance, due to the nature of the work and contract requirement
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business, engineering, or related field from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years\xe2\x80\x99 relevant experience in procurement/buying/Subcontract Administration role
  • DoD procurement experience and working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint (Procurement Functions)
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills: ability to lead formal negotiations and teleconferences (price, schedule, and supplier exceptions to contractual flow down requirements)
  • Proficiency to perform and comprehend price and cost analysis, source selection/justification, analysis of supplier quotations
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal customers, all levels of management, and to suppliers
  • Experience making presentations (verbal and/or written) to key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in managing suppliers or projects
  • Excellent time management skills: the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet team performance cadence (PR/PO updates; PR cycle time, on-time-delivery, and other company metrics)
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • 6 years\xe2\x80\x99 purchasing/subcontracting in a CPSR environment
  • Prior purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience with multiple subcontract types, including, but not limited to, Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time and Material (T&M), Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), and Cost Plus Incentive Fee (CPIF)
  • Experience creating long-term agreements
  • Experience in developing risk mitigation strategies
