Position Summary:

The experienced senior Process Engineer will serve as a resource for the plant, provide both technical and operational expertise and support to develop processes to transform raw materials into high-quality product while controlling risks associated with chemical manufacturing plant improvements. Local candidates only, no relocation.

In This Role, You Will

:

Provide direct engineering support to daily plant operations to ensure objectives for the 24/7 continuous chemical manufacturing plant are consistently and successfully met. Champion process optimization, troubleshoot and resolve complex operational and process-related issues, and manage equipment maintenance to improve efficiency and output. Work closely with Operations Manager and all levels of employees onsite to deliver innovative, safe, and reliable performance solutions and take action to improve production processes. Translate guidelines and standards into best practice, troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues, and recommend cost-effective solutions to optimize processes used onsite and elevate the business. Design, review, and modify process flow diagrams (PFD), process and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) drawings. Perform process modeling, hydraulic calculations, and simulations as needed. Develop instrument data and specification sheets, complete documentation for work performed and executed onsite. Facilitate client hazard and operability reviews, conduct and oversee the hazard analysis review process, and lead cross functional project teams to mitigate risk. Identify and evaluate start up process improvements to increase production capacity, improve operating liability, reduce manufacturing costs and energy usage, conserve raw materials, improve product yield and ensure quality. Support the annual turnaround event and all major maintenance activities performed onsite at the chemical plant. Comply with all environmental, health and safety best practices, policies, and procedures, including process safety management (PSM). Diligently adhere to and fulfill all Responsible Care requirements, demonstrate a steadfast commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical practices in all aspects of your position within the organization.

What We Require:



Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills to find and create solutions to optimize processes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Teams. Fundamental knowledge of chemical manufacturing equipment and components used onsite at 24/7 chemical manufacturing facilities. Ability to adapt and flex methodologies in response to new information, changing conditions, and unexpected obstacles. Excellent negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with contractors and colleagues at all levels of the organization. Must be able to make decisions using discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. Ability to work well independently as well as a team environment to exceed strategic goals, handle multiple assignments, and meet tight deadlines required. Thorough understanding of how to operate and troubleshoot a distributed control system (DCS), expertise with Honeywell systems preferred. Ability to interpret technical drawings, electrical drawings, schematics, and equipment drawings, safety procedures, including federal and state OSHA guidelines. Must have a strong understanding of properties, behaviors, and hazards of fixed and rotating equipment used onsite at chemical manufacturing plants.

Education and Experience Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related discipline. Five or more years of experience in process engineering in a chemical manufacturing work environment. Strong leadership skills required to educate operations team and oversee the process of transforming raw materials into useful products with a thorough understanding of basic chemical engineering principles. Demonstrated expertise in process engineering and process technology principles. Previous experience working in Process Safety Management (PSM) regulated facilities preferred.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
