This position is eligible for partial remote work at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Power Electronic Software Design Engineer for John Deere ISG located in Fargo, ND, you will work in a highly skilled team providing support for complex power electronic systems. In addition, you will:

• Develop innovative and robust software solutions for our power electronics products and the vehicle platforms that use them
• Work with other engineers to integrate power electronic components into an application
• Support commissioning new systems and vehicles, including troubleshooting vehicle problems, making recommendations on software parameters, and giving technical guidance to other engineers

What Skills You Need

• 5 or more years of professional experience developing software projects using the C programming language
• 5 or more years of experience employing rigorous process measures to ensure product quality
• 5 or more years of experience in embedded software development using real time operating systems, task schedulers, and configuring microcontroller peripherals
• 5 or more years of experience developing robust software verification measures for production intent products
• 3 or more years of experience leading the development of one or more software projects
• Experience with simulation and modeling tools (e.g. MATLAB, Simulink)
• Experience with communication networks and protocols such as J1939, ISO11783, UDS, TCP/IP
• Effective written and verbal communication skills (English)
• Ability to travel up to 25%

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience with power electronics products such as inverters, converters, or battery management systems
• Experience working on electric drive or other vehicle systems
• Experience with Agile software development methods
• Skilled with development and debugging tools (e.g. CAN tools, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, etc.)
• Other programming languages such as C# or Python

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree
