The Senior Manager, Pricing & Channel Programs leads and manages five key areas of the Brother organization that support sales teams and channel partners: Channel Pricing; UMAP (Unilateral Minimum Advertised Price) policies; Bid Desk; Brother Authorized Partner Program (BAPP); and the Analysis & Audit of channel and pricing programs.

This role interfaces with Sales, Marketing, Sales Operations, IT, and Corporate Management to ensure the effective implementation and refinement of efficient, strategic programs and policies for channel partners. This role serves as a subject matter expert on channel pricing, UMAP, partner authorization processes and rules, providing guidance and support to stakeholders across the organization.

The Senior Manager, Pricing & Channel Programs leads a team of analysts and specialists who manage Brother\'s bid desk and analytical functions that ensure proper channel partners\' support and compliance with Brother\'s channel programs and policies.

UMAP Policy Management

  • Develop, implement, and manage Brother\'s UMAP policies for the Business Machines Group (BMG) and Home Appliance Division (HAD), ensuring alignment with the organization\'s business strategy, including but not limited to the following components:
  • Collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Legal to update language and rules as needed
  • Monitoring compliance of authorized partners
  • Enforcement of penalties against offenders
  • Notification of penalties and restrictions to distribution network
  • Communication with channel partners to announce changes and updates to the policy and answer questions and concerns
  • Education and training of internal stakeholders to understand the policy and associated processes
  • Procure and manage service providers for web-crawler monitoring and enforcement tools to ensure channel partners\' compliance, periodically reviewing provider performance to ensure they continually meet Brother\'s standards and requirements
BAPP Management
  • Manage the Brother Authorized Partner Program (BAPP) and all internal and external processes for the Brother partner community, closing the reseller network exclusively to 6,000+ resellers and identifying 5,000+ resellers previously unknown to the organization
  • Work closely with Legal and Sales/Marketing leadership to maintain/refine a comprehensive Program agreement and adequate guidelines (e.g., qualification requirements, tier levels, benefits, etc.) to ensure support and compliance of channel partners
  • Implement and manage the process for resellers to join the BAPP and execute accurate partner data collection
  • Process (review/vet) all channel partner applications to join the BAPP, ensuring that only qualified applicants become Brother Authorized Partners
  • Implement a reseller database that is connected to the BAPP application process, and make it available to different groups in the organization, and for integration with other applications (e.g., PRM systems), automating the communication with partners (resellers and distributors) and internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with Marketing teams (and external agencies, as needed) to manage recruitment campaigns and education of potential applicants on the BAPP
Bid Desk Supervision
  • Manage the Bid Desk team, providing support and guidance to subordinates to:
  • Maintain special pricing programs, managing active deals with specific end customers (1,000+ active deals at any given time)
  • Develop and revise special pricing programs, determining qualification and compliance requirements, discount levels, and additional benefits available to partners
  • Implement and/or refine pricing request structure to ensure ease-of-use by internal sales teams and improving the rebates processing and submission by channel partners
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations to manage administration of pricing request software platform, ensuring that vendor meets necessary standards and proposing improvements and enhancements for more efficient processes
Analysis & Audit (A&A) Supervision
  • Manage the A&A function, providing support and guidance to subordinates to:
  • Implement and maintain periodic reporting and auditing of our channel programs and special pricing deals, collaborating with Sales and Credit to establish and maintain processes for timely and efficient processing of claims payments and disputes
  • Analyze UMAP violations and enforcement impact on marketplace and periodic audit of penalty enforcement by channel partners
  • Review performance and compliance of channel partners at different stages of the value chain (i.e., resellers and distributors) related to channel and special pricing programs (e.g., revenue minimums, contractual obligations, audit and processing of rebates, compliance with special pricing programs, etc.)
Channel Pricing Management
  • Partner with Sales/Marketing leadership to identify and implement channel pricing, margin guidelines, and strategies across (10+) different channels
  • Manage distribution of pricing information across Brother stakeholders
  • Review and audit current channel pricing processes, ensuring compliance, timely implementation, and management with Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain
  • Manage Price Change Order Process and Account Profile Process for BMG/HAD
  • Define (and refine) pricing development processes to create efficiencies and support Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management teams
Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor\'s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or related field
Experience

8+ years of combined experience in the following areas:
  • Experience implementing and managing one or multiple sales operations functions such as: UMAP, partner/channel programs, bid desk, channel pricing, or similar functions
  • Experience working independently in a customer service/pricing environment
  • Experience interfacing directly with customers as well as internal stakeholders
  • Experience interpreting auditing & analytics to refine policy and make strategic business recommendations
  • Experience managing and coaching a team of individual contributors

This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by managers.
