The Sam\'s Club Member Access Platform (MAP), the retail media network arm, is the nexus of the Supplier -Marketer- Merchant partnership and is responsible for delivering our suppliers (advertisers) impactful omnichannel advertising member experiences that are married with closed-loop measurement.

The Measurement, Insights and Data Strategy (MINDS) team is a newly formed data and analytics function within the MAP organization, responsible for providing campaign performance measurement and audience insights for marketing effectiveness and optimization, while leading innovation and monetization initiatives through media experimentation and data strategy. The MINDS team also delivers a critical service in data stewardship and governance for MAP organization. The team fuels MAP\'s winning formula - easy to buy, easy to sell, easy to operate to drive accelerated growth for both supplier brands and Sam\'s Club - by taking full advantage of the unique strength in omni-channel and 100% traceable member journey data, curated SKU assortment and personalized experience, with growing member reach.

MAP\'s Senior Manager II, Data Stewardship and Governance will have the exciting opportunity to help shape MAP\'s data strategy by driving data stewardship and governance responsibilities. This role will focus on the development of processes, programs, and policies that guide the proper consumption, protection, curation and sharing of valuable Sam\'s Club 1P data. With the growing emphasis on consumer data privacy protection and expanding regulatory enforcement, this leadership role will play a critical role in developing privacy-safe and media-friendly data strategy to enable MAP\'s accelerated growth.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned data strategist and thought leader in a constantly changing, ambiguous data environment. The candidate is well-versed in key tenets of data governance - data accountability, stewardship, quality, and transparency. The candidate is also up to date on the latest consumer data privacy landscape and has led or participated in data stewardship initiatives to bring data creation, usage and sharing in compliance with the latest regulation. The candidate clearly understands the implications of 3P cookie deprecation and the significance of 1P cookies in the quickly evolving digital media landscape. This role will report directly to MAP\'s Head of Measurement, Insights and Data Strategy.

You\'ll make an impact by...

  • Build and lead Data Stewardship and Governance practice as part of the key function within the MINDS team to create privacy-safe and media-friendly environment to accelerate MAP\'s growth
  • Develop, promote and maintain MAP data sharing policies - review and approve external facing MAP contents and data for shareability
  • Define, develop, and document procedures for increasing data availability and quality while promoting responsible data usage and access control
  • Monitor and work cross-functionally to ensure that the quality of key data ingested by 3 rd party measurement and ad partners are up to the standard for accurate analysis for internal operations and external reporting
  • Work cross-functionally with Sam\'s compliance, governance and legal teams to ensure adherence to Sam\'s corporate data governance and privacy policies and standards
  • Design and iterate on privacy-related guidelines and procedures. Strategically evaluate legislative and platform-level privacy implementations and their impact to the business to drive solutioning
  • Guide analytics, product, and engineering teams during development processes to ensure data collection and usage practices are properly vetted and secured
  • Create role-based data access matrix for all MAP data users of data platforms such as MADRID and internal dashboards on need-to-know basis for data security and protection
  • Collaborate with MAP onboarding team, Digital Citizenship and 3 rd party data partners to create streamlined process to give access to new hires to internal dashboards and MADRID and to offboard users upon their departure from the MAP organization
  • Develop and publish MAP data catalog and CoE for reporting and dashboards to certify dashboards and ensure correct single source of truth is leveraged across the organization and data definition is shared transparently
You\'ll sweep us off our feet if you...
  • Bachelor\'s or master\'s degree
  • 6+ years of industry experience of which minimum 3 years in development and management of data governance programs with related experience in concepts and practices such as data classification, data sharing and information security, auditing and reviewing access to data, CCPA/CPRA program implementation, and writing data policies
  • Experience in documentation of data lineages, maintaining data catalogs, and ensuring measurable data quality and data protection practices
  • Experience in protection of user privacy with understanding of technical privacy issues, such as cookie management, anonymization techniques, and encryption.
  • Experience with advertising, retail media, digital advertising a plus
  • Demonstrated consulting skills with emphasis on communication, presentation, and project management
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage projects, communicate effectively and be a self-starter
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and relationship building/management with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Operations, Product, Engineering, Digital Citizenship, and Legal
  • Keep pace with rapidly changing digital advertising space with working knowledge in display, search, programmatic, video, CTV, Social commerce, shoppable ads, etc.,
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in an environment with rapid change
  • Curious, collaborative and enjoys working on complex problems

The annual salary range for this position is $144,000.00-$216,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
