The Role
As a Sr Manager Fiber Market Lead at Lumen, you will be part of our nationwide focus on fiber investment. We are looking for leaders to drive all aspects of our growth, including investment strategy, customer experience, local marketing and sales, operational alignment and brand awareness.

Candidates must live in Minnesota to be considered.

Special note about this role:

This is a Field Marketing role, and most of your time will be spent out in the Field in Minnesota.

This is NOT a 100% Work from Home role. Any tasks or duties that need to be performed other than Field assignments, can be done from home, and that is the extent of the Work from Home possibilities for this job.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate across Lumen\'s internal planning, engineering, construction, public policy / PR, marketing, sales, product, and finance departments on fiber strategy, investment details and implementation
  • Manage team of three managers responsible for project management, customer experience, sales, retention and marketing, as well as indirectly influencing the activities of other local resources.
  • Develop tactic to acquire new customers and retain existing customers on our existing and newly deployed fiber assets
  • Oversee the execution of capital expenditures between $15-$50M annually and the fiber enablement of between 25-100k households per year across brownfield and greenfield investments
  • Managing a local expense budget for local sales, marketing, retention and community / partnership investment
  • Assemble playbooks that detail the ownership, timelines & success metrics and execution hand offs
  • Communicate success metrics and overall investment progress
  • Evaluate and improve all aspects of the customer experience
  • Conduct regular calls to update progress, log issues and identify gaps
  • Distribute regular communications on results, business case metrics and other insights
  • Develop integrated program plans that account for multiple project deliverables and proactively identify critical impediments to meeting project objectives.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to enhance teamwork and communicate overall construction, sales, customer service and operational updates
  • Coordinate projects and programs across multiple business groups to ensure timely delivery of objectives.
  • Evaluate Lumen\'s ability to deliver new products, services and technologies within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in a related field (Business, Communications, or similar) or equivalent work experience
  • Thorough understanding of residential broadband, voice and video service solutions, with deep understand of fiber and copper broadband service and technologies
  • Detailed understanding of the telecommunications industry, emerging trends, and the various functional disciplines within the company
  • Five to seven years advanced project management experience
  • Experience driving improved customer experience
  • Experience leading high-performance teams and achieving strong employee engagement scores
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to identify trends, assess knowledge gaps and communicate recommendations for improvement to a leadership audience
  • Strength in creating and delivering consulting-level project plans and presentations
  • Action-oriented and creative thinker who can focus on detailed implementation and execution
  • Outstanding organization and time management skills; a proven ability to manage multiple initiatives independently in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to effectively operate within diverse and cross-functional groups
  • Ability to travel when needed

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
