We're looking for paralegals who enjoy litigation and want to help out with trials in our diverse and often high-profile civil litigation practice serving the people of the State of California.
As part of our team in the Tort and Condemnation Section of the California Attorney General's Office, you will assist Deputy Attorneys General in litigating and trying a variety of cases involving government tort liability, including civil rights, personal injury, premises liability, excessive force, medical malpractice, due process, eminent domain, inverse condemnation, and mass torts arising out of floods and fires.
Tort and Condemnation paralegal duties include:
Assisting in all aspects of civil litigation, from inception through trial, settlement, or appeal
Coordinating requests for representation from client agencies
Drafting and responding to discovery requests and assisting in discovery management
Interviewing and preparing witnesses
Analyzing and summarizing medical records, other evidence, and witness testimony
Coordinating with expert witnesses, including preparing contracts, managing billing, and assisting attorneys in preparing witnesses for testimony
Communicating and coordinating directly with clients and witnesses
Working collaboratively with team members
Representing the Attorney General's Office with the highest ethical and professional standards
