Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer for John Deere Global Crop Harvesting Product Development located in Silvis, IL or Ankeny, IA, you will...

  • Provide technical support with the implementation of electrical architecture across the Cotton, Sugar and Combine product lines.
  • Define controller selection, controller variants, input/output requirements, and signal mapping.
  • Development of platform unique sensors and actuator requirements, supplier collaboration, and integration support.
  • Integrate ethernet communications architecture.
  • Support teams with design and schematic design reviews, I/O mapping, and issue resolution.

What Skills You Need
  • 5 or more years of experience in electrical system design, integration, or testing within product development
  • Experience authoring technical functional requirements for electrical systems
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary cross functional teams to analyze data and drive decision making
  • Experience owning and managing project deliverables
  • Experience solving challenging technical problems
  • Experience providing technical leadership to new and experienced team members that are both local and remote
  • Experience working with suppliers on component and system development
  • Ability to work off-shift hours, as needed, to support production during builds
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestic or international up to 25%
What Makes You Stand Out
  • 5 or more years of progressive engineering experience
  • Experience working with off highway vehicles, especially crop harvesting equipment
  • Experience leading an engineering team
  • Systems Engineering certification
  • Project Management experience
  • Advanced training in additional engineering disciplines
Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in electrical engineering
