POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs engineering work to identify and drive development of new aftermarket products. Works directly with customers and internal stakeholders to define needs/requirements for solutions. Leads projects with a small team of supporting engineers and provides training and mentorship to others. The position interfaces with global sales and development teams to provide solutions enabling growth in the aftermarket business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determines the scope and performance requirements for aftermarket products
  • Plans and leads assigned projects, including project execution, delegation of tasks, and interfacing with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Responsible for owning post-development success of the product in the application
  • Responsible for developing supporting performance collateral to drive qualifications at global sites
  • Displays leadership to less experienced engineers by providing training or mentoring.
  • Serves as a knowledge holder within the group, and as a primary contact for technical expertise.
  • Works closely with customers to identify opportunities and communicate progress. Supports on-site installation of designs at customer facilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Works within standard office and engineering lab environment
  • Must be able to travel 5% of the time, including internationally
QUALIFICATIONS:

Position requires strength in the following skill sets:

  • Broad understanding of power conversion and control
  • Use of laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, waveform generators, spectrum and network analyzers, power supplies, RF and DC fixturing
EXPERIENCE:

Essential
  • 5-10 years in related engineering field
  • RF design or application experience
Desirable
  • Working knowledge of vacuum science and plasma processing equipment and applications
  • Working knowledge of thin film industry (e.g. semiconductor, data storage, flat panel, advanced coatings)
  • Specific knowledge of, and experience with key customers, their equipment and applications
  • Product troubleshooting to board level
EDUCATION:

Essential
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering/Science
Desireable

Masters degree in Engineering

COMPENSATION:

As required by Colorado law under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the hires in the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $95,000 to $120,000 per year.
