What part will you play?

GAF Energy is seeking a Field Operations EHS (Safety) Specialist to assist in developing and improving our EHS programs through observation, teaching, training and coaching best practices in GAF Energy\xe2\x80\x99s residential solar roofing markets.

The EHS Specialist will act as an expert resource to work with GAF Energy internal teams, contractors and business partners to establish and implement EHS standards and best practices that promote the safe deployment and operation of our products.

The ideal candidate must have a passion for problem solving and meeting timelines, and be capable of working remotely and independently at locations within the US as assigned.

This exciting role will report to the GAF Energy EHS Manager.

What will you do?

Effectively control safety & health risks related to your field work including working at heights, working with electricity, driving, and other risks.

Support the development and provide training in EHS topics.

Coordinate and conduct EHS audits, accident and incident investigations, analysis of leading and lagging EHS performance indicators and report out on results.

Champion the selection and procurement of personal protective equipment, and work with managers and suppliers to ensure adequate inventory is in place per company needs.

Directly support managers in the completion of required EHS training, including new-hire and recurring training and records management.

Report out to management, leadership teams and contractor partners on the results of field inspections, including recommendations for correcting critical issues.

Recommend improvements to product and tool design that supports continuous improvement based on feedback from customers and real world experience.

Participate and lead in department initiatives that improve our safety culture as assigned.

What do we require from you?

Degreed program in Safety Management, Construction or related field, Solar or Electrical Technologies, or relevant work experience.

3+ years experience in roofing and/or solar or residential construction.

EHS related certification is desirable such as CSP, GSP, ASP, CHST, STS.

Experience in creating and/or implementing EHS programs.

Experience training adult learners desired, and/or experience with instructional design or computer-based courseware development tools.

Experience collecting and analyzing data, drafting and presenting reports based on the data.

Experience communicating with front-line technicians, engineers, sales and marketing teams, and external customers.

Proficiency in a Microsoft Office or Google Workspace environment.

Experience working remotely, independently, and with little to no direct supervision.

NABCEP and/or other industry certification desired.

Journey-person, Master Electrician or another industry-related licensure desired.

Multilingual with reading/wiring competency in Spanish language desired.

Physical Demands And Working Conditions

Individuals in this position may be required to obtain additional training and certifications to comply with GAF Energy policies such as NFPA 70E, First Aid/CPR, and others.

Travel throughout the US may be required. Up to 50% average travel with frequent overnight stays is conceivable.

When in the field, individuals will be expected to be capable of performing tasks similar to those of an electrician or field technician.

This is a remote-based position, and candidates are expected to work from home when not working in the field. This includes frequent online meetings, on-camera presentations, and phone calls.
