Senior Data Engineering Manager (Remote ? U.S.)
A nationwide real estate industry leader is seeking a Senior Data Engineering Manager to lead our data engineering organization and drive the design, development, and optimization of a modern enterprise data platform. This is a full-time, fully remote position available from anywhere in the United States.
We?re looking for a leader who can shape long?term data architecture strategy while also rolling up their sleeves to solve complex engineering challenges. You?ll guide a team of talented engineers in building scalable, reliable, and high?performance data systems that power analytics, operational systems, AI/ML, and business intelligence across the company.

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data and platform engineers
  • Define and drive the technical vision, roadmap, and architecture for the data engineering organization
  • Partner with leaders across BI, Product, Engineering, and Business teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions
  • Oversee the design, build, and maintenance of robust data pipelines and ELT/ETL frameworks
  • Architect scalable data models and storage solutions aligned with enterprise standards
  • Ensure best-in-class performance, security, governance, reliability, and scalability of all data systems
  • Evaluate, implement, and manage modern data tools and technologies
  • Own end-to-end data lifecycle processes including ingestion, transformation, testing, quality, and monitoring
  • Implement data observability and CI/CD for data pipelines
  • Ensure optimal performance, uptime, and resilience of mission-critical workflows
  • Lead the design and development of APIs and data services supporting internal and external applications
  • Architect and deploy event-driven solutions using AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, SQS, SNS, etc.)
  • Lead development of real-time and streaming data pipelines using Kinesis, Kafka, or similar technologies
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role
  • Deep hands-on experience with the modern data stack (e.g., AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, GitHub, Matillion, Openflow, Fivetran, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Proven experience architecting large-scale, distributed data systems
  • Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, data quality frameworks, and observability tools
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Background in designing multi-environment (dev/staging/prod) data ecosystems
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and DevOps practices
  • Hands-on experience building and integrating APIs (REST, GraphQL, etc.)
