Stantec\'s Northeast Transportation team is seeking a highly qualified Senior Engineer and Project Manager with expertise in climate resilient design. As a member of our climate solutions team, you will use your creative abilities to develop and deliver future-focused design strategies to make our transportation systems more adaptive and resilient to climate change.

This role has the potential to transform your career. You will lead and collaborate on projects that are as technically challenging as they are impactful, creative, and fulfilling. You will contribute to a broad portfolio of climate adaptation projects in the transportation sector including culvert and bridge replacements, waterfront and aviation facilities, roadway and trail corridors, utility and asset management, regional system assessments, and statewide DOT initiatives. You will exchange ideas, best practices, and lessons learned with Stantec\'s local and national experts in resiliency, modeling, and design. You will help develop and execute our resilience strategy in the Northeast transportation market and support national pursuits depending on your interests.

This role is location flexible between our Northeast offices and hybrid work.

Your Key Responsibilities

As both a Climate Resilience Technical Lead and Project Manager, you will pursue, lead, and work on resilience focused transportation projects throughout Northeast. These projects require creative solutions to help our public sector clients protect their infrastructure assets from the impacts of climate change and realize the full potential of each project.

You will evaluate each project through a climate lens. You will partner with our resilience planners to assess climate stressors and strategize on potential adaptation solutions. You will collaborate with clients, colleagues, and our consultant partners to explore opportunities to further enhance multimodal connections, prioritize equity and accessibility, protect and restore natural ecosystems, and meet climate action goals.

We are seeking an individual with the desire and ability to:

Expand and enhance our climate solutions practice in the Northeast market

Support regional and national pursuits in the transportation resilience space

Manage multiple transportation projects in a time-sensitive, fast-paced team environment

Lead interdisciplinary teams in the development of proposals, studies, and designs

Coach and mentor developing engineering professionals on future-focused design strategies

Motivate and inspire teams to work together to achieve the project goals

Organize the teams\' efforts to consistently deliver quality designs on schedule/budget

Represent Stantec at industry events, client and agency meetings, and public meetings

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Passionate about resilience and sustainability projects and initiatives

Excellent leadership, communication, organizational and collaboration skills

Self-starter with energetic and ambitious can-do attitude who can quickly collaborate and engage with colleagues, across the US and across disciplines, to contribute to a growing regional and national practice with limited supervisory support

Growth mindset with a strong desire to stay knowledgeable on trends and best practices

Knowledge of civil engineering and resiliency design principles

Demonstrated experience developing adaptation solutions for transportation assets

Familiarity with publicly available climate data and models

Strong knowledge of AASHTO and DOT design standards

Knowledge of state and federal resilience focused funding programs/sources

Education and Experience

Bachelors or Master\'s Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant engineering field

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in a Northeast state or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months of hire

Minimum 10 years relevant experience on infrastructure projects for municipal and agency clients

This role is location flexible between our Northeast offices and hybrid work; may require some field work. Each of our regional offices offer a welcoming environment with flexible workstations, on-site amenities, and in-office events . Must have valid driver\'s license.
