We\xe2\x80\x99re currently looking for a Senior Buyer to join our team in Franklin, TN.

Job Summary

Acts as a work leader and thought leader, providing guidance and training to buyers and associate buyers within department. Assists with developing sourcing strategies, conducting major negotiations, and non-routine activities. Oversees assigned commodities and special projects. Contributes to building brand value and achieving profitable growth.

Job Functions

  • Proactively takes on responsibility and searches for improvement opportunities.
  • Anticipates needs of internal and external customers.
  • Works well on a team or in individual settings, including cross functionally.
  • Presents clearly and effectively to all management levels, including executive levels.
  • Designs, implements, and tracks own progress on achieving strategic timelines.
  • Takes an interest in maximizing knowledge of assigned commodity.
  • Provides instruction and guidance to buyers and associate buyers.
  • Develops analytical techniques for buyers in areas such as quote review, bundling analysis and sourcing recommendations.
  • Helps to resolve all major issues and problems involving multiple parties.
  • Provides buyer guidance in the preparation of all formal documents. This includes sourcing recommendations, cost adjustment recommendation, and any other reports and documents required.
  • Assists buyers with complex and controversial price negotiations.
  • Performs daily administrative tasks by maintaining and updating various databases related to purchasing functions.
  • Plans, develops, implements and maintains cost reduction plans in support of the department\'s cost reduction goals.
  • As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
Minimum Qualifications

Job Knowledge and Skill:
Commodity and market knowledge. Commercial and legal regulations knowledge. Good oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal and relationship skills. Strong negotiations and cost analysis. Advanced data analytics using Excel and Tableau.

Experience:
Minimum five years of related experience at a professional level.

Supervisory Experience:
One to two years in a work leader role coordinating the work of other employees or contractors. This includes training new employees, assigning work, and checking the timeliness and quality of work. May have provided input into performance reviews. Most time in work leader role would have been spent performing work similar to that performed by the people whose activities the position coordinates.

Education:
A related degree from a four-year college. Consider equivalent related college or technical courses, seminars and in-house classroom training.

Computer Skills:

Working knowledge of MS Office products; advanced knowledge of Excel and Tableau.

Physical Requirements

Travel:
Approximately 20% day and overnight travel.
