DataStaff, Inc. is in need of a Senior Applications DBA for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in Raleigh, NC

*This position is hybrid

Responsibilities:

• Support migration of Oracle database effort from on-prem to AWS cloud and design/development of various applications in AWS Cloud.
• Managing the application schema, design, and extensions within the database for development, test, and production environments for very large Oracle database on Linux platform.
• Database technical support, performance tuning, application administration and consulting, and providing support for Oracle, Oracle Data guard, Oracle Golden Gate.
• Serve in a key role in the creation of database migration plans from on-Prem to AWS, participate in the development of procedures for effective database use and ensuring standards are met.
• Working with developers to identify and refine data requirements, database design, database migration planning, and configuration
• Performing backup and recovery, monitoring database performance, and reorganizing database structures as needed
• Creation and modification of test and production data, base schemas.
• Provide technical leadership in data archiving, data extract (full copy or subset) from production region to non-production region, and data masking/de-identification of the extract data.

Required Skills:

• 7 Years - Demonstrable skills in designing schema, access patterns, locking strategy, SQL development, and tuning Oracle Databases in an enterprise environment
• 7 Years - Modifying the database structure, creation and update to existing database objects per application needs
• 3 Years - Experience in configuring, monitoring, and Cache management for Oracle database servers
• 3 Years - Strong experience in allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system
• 2 Years - Experience in supporting and implementing Oracle Golden Gate
• 2 Years - Must have experience in implementing and supporting Oracle on AWS including RDS
• 5 Years - Experience authoring code in SQL, PL/SQL on Unix/Linux
• 2 Years - Proficiency in one or more shell scripting languages
• 5 Years - Hands-on experience enrolling users and maintaining system security, Controlling user access to the database, Locking down host access
• 5 Years - Monitoring performance metrics, response times, and request rates
• 2 Years - Designing and implementing backup/restore service and disaster recovery (DR) solutions on AWS cloud
• 3 Years - Experience with installing, upgrading, and patching the software that powers the database (Oracle)
• 2 Years - Strong experience in data archiving solution for large oracle database
• 2 Years - Experience with data masking/de-identification of production data for non-production usage.
• 7 Years - Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• 5 Years - Participate in on-call rotation and weekend work

Desired Skills:

• 2 Years - Experience with advanced security and Oracle DataGuard replication
