The Opportunity

Delaware North Gaming is hiring full-time, experienced Security Officers to join our team at Mardi Gras Casino in Cross Lanes, West Virginia. As an experienced Security Officer, you will ensure a safe and secure environment for our guests and associates.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers positively and timely, treating each person as an individual and in a professional manner.
• Conducts cash escorts as required.
• Demonstrates skill in dealing with customer complaints, using active listening.
• Skills to defuse difficult and sometimes emotionally charged situations to maintain the customer s goodwill.
• Team-oriented; ability to work effectively with others to ensure a smooth operation.
• Highly motivated and takes the initiative.
• Observes handles, and reports procedural violations and illegal activity.
• Ensure that identification is checked for proper admittance to the gaming floor.
• Maintains crowd control as required.
• Defuse customer profanity to ensure a friendly environment.
• Role model the Guest Path Universal Service Standards and Operational Standards, interacting positively through relationships with guests and fellow associates, displaying genuine concern and mutual respect for people s needs.
• Respond to medical calls and provide first aid care as needed.
• Responsible for training new security associates.
• Complete necessary forms, verify all paperwork is complete, and submit at the conclusion of the shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Law enforcement or related experience is a plus.
• A gaming background is a plus.
• Must be certified through this unit as a First Responder.
• Must have a valid driver s license and pass an MVR check and drug test.
• Basic Math skills.
• Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to handle conflict situations with tact and maintain composure at all times, diffusing hostile situations quickly with a positive outcome.
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision, learn quickly and stay focused on the task.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to work across departmental lines with customers & vendors.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when handling guest complaints/issues.
• Ability to write detailed reports on the computer.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to communicate via two-way radio.
• Bending, Stooping, Lifting, and Carrying occasionally.
• Vision must be sufficient that the Officer is not restricted in the performance of duties day or night.
• Indoors and Outdoors.
• Occasionally loud environment.
