The Opportunity

Delaware North Gamingis hiring full-time and part-time Security Officers to join our team at Mardi Gras Casino in Cross Lanes, West Virginia . As a Security Guard, you will ensure a safe and secure environment for our guests and team members.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests positively and timely, treating each person as an individual and in a professional manner
• Conduct cash escorts as required
• Demonstrate skill in dealing with guest complaints, using active listening skills to defuse difficult and sometimes emotionally charged situations to maintain the guest\'s good will
• Observe, handle, and report procedural violations and illegal activity
• Ensure that identification is checked for proper admittance to the gaming floor
• Maintain crowd control as required
• Defuse guest profanity to ensure a friendly environment
• Role model the Guest Path Universal Service Standards and Operational Standards by interacting positively through relationships with guest and fellow team members, displaying genuine concern and mutual respect for people s needs
• Understand the goals and vision of the organization and demonstrate commitment to those goals in terms of individual and team performance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Law enforcement or related experience a plus
• Gaming background a plus
• Team-oriented with an ability to work effectively with others to ensure a smooth operation
• Highly motived and takes initiative
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must have and maintain a valid driver s license, pass a motor vehicle record check, and drug test
• Basic math skills
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
• Must be able to be licensed by State Gaming Commission
• Ability to work across departmental lines
• Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when handling guest complaints or issues

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to communicate through two way radio
• Bending, stooping, lifting and carrying occasionally
• Manual dexterity sufficient to handle guest items and various equipment
• Vision must be sufficient that the officer is not restricted in the performance of duties day or night
• Occasionally loud environment
