Job Description
Now Hiring Full & Part Time seasonal positions (April \xe2\x80\x93 June) to help display, sell, and maintain live green goods in an outdoor greenhouse. Must be available weekends.
Summary/Objective
Greenhouse/Garden Center employees are part of a team that sells and maintains live goods in an outdoor environment. Must be able to offer outstanding customer service, create unique and inviting displays, keep the greenhouse areas clean, organized and stocked with merchandise.
Essential Functions
- Greeting, Assisting, and Carrying out Product for customers
- Receiving, organizing, pricing plant displays and associated merchandise
- Inspection of plants for quality problems, pruning needs and signage
- Cleanliness and safety in your work area
- Proper protection of live good products in inclement weather i.e. wind, rain, storm, cold, ice
- Keep up to date on current sales and promotions regarding greenhouse products
- Customer Service skills
- General knowledge of plant product and gardening (suggested)
- Ability to research and answer customer questions
- Willingness to listen and train other staff members.
This job operates in a temporary parking lot structure and other temporary outdoor facilities. Watering/Irrigation systems will be used daily. Some computer knowledge is required.
Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, lift, walk. Ability to carry and load soils, planters and hanging baskets, must lift up to 40 pounds.
Required Training and Experience
Previous retail experience is preferred. Some basic plant and gardening knowledge is required
