Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Screen Printer to join our team. The Screen Printer will be responsible for operating and maintaining screen printing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials in coordination with our lead screen printer. The ideal candidate should have experience in screen printing techniques, a keen eye for color accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while taking direction from the lead screen printer.

Responsibilities - the screen printer will work and take direction from our lead printer in the following capacity:

Preparation and Setup:

Prepare screens by coating them with emulsion and exposing them to create stencils.
Set up and adjust screen printing machines, ensuring proper alignment and tension of screens.
Mix and prepare inks according to color specifications and job requirements.

Printing:

Load (or unload) materials onto the printing machine, ensuring proper positioning and registration. Monitor the printing process to ensure consistent quality and make adjustments as needed.

Color Matching and Quality Control:

Perform color matching to ensure accurate reproduction of designs. Conduct frequent quality checks during production runs to identify any defects or inconsistencies. Make necessary adjustments to maintain print quality and color accuracy. Be willing to help catch garments at the end of the dryer.

Maintenance:

Clean and maintain printing equipment, including screens, squeegees, and machinery, to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment to minimize downtime.

Collaboration:

Coordinate with the design team to ensure artwork is print-ready and meets technical requirements. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth production processes.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Screen Printer or similar role for a minimum of 1 year. Proficiency in screen printing techniques, including screen preparation, ink mixing, registration, and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of color theory and color mixing for accurate color reproduction. Familiarity with different types of inks and substrates. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining attention to detail. Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment and printing issues. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks. Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices for working with printing equipment. Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, based on production schedules.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
