Metro\'s Non-Ferrous department is currently seeking a Scrap Processor/Buyer
Basic Job Duties:
- Greets and helps unload non-ferrous customers
- Identifies and sorts different types of materials
- Must be courteous and patient with employees and customers.
- Helps with housekeeping during down times
- Must be willing to fill at other tasks when needed and performing only those jobs on which they have been trained
- Will be out in the different weather conditions
- Responsible for observing and following all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
- Responsible for timely, understandable, legible and accurate paperwork.
- Able to handle and work with demanding customers

- Must be willing to fill at other tasks when needed by supervisor
- Must be able to quickly and efficiently learn the metal recycling industry
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule Monday through Saturday if needed
- Ability to provide quality customer service
- 1 year of customer service experience required
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be able to pass background check along with drug and alcohol testing
- Able to work in the heat of the summer and cold of the winter
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Good attendance and punctuality is a must
- Ability to provide quality customer service
- Effective written communication skills and ability to complete paperwork promptly
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Understand computer basics
- Ability to sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and work on your feet for extended periods of time
- The employee occasionally is required to lift up to 80 pounds. The employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch.
