We are looking to hire a Scientist I to support our Beachwood, OH facility.
This is just a high-level overview of the role we need you to fill for us:
Analyze samples for compliance with quality assurance requirements. Calibrate instruments and maintain records. Perform forensic analysis to determine the failure of concrete and/or concrete admixtures. Work collaboratively with other scientists and technicians. Ability to write clear and concise reports.
Primary Responsibilities

• Perform testing using a variety of technologies such as wet chemistry, HPLC, GPC, Mass Spectrometry, FTIR, UV/Vis, XRF, XRD, and TOC.
• Execute projects in support of concrete admixtures including product deformulation and product development, failure analysis and problem-solving, impurity identification, extractable and leachable studies, and structural characterization.
• Develop quality control specifications for raw materials and formulated admixture products.
• Maintain an understanding of the state-of-the-art in cement and admixture technology through regular review of scientific publications and participation in appropriate conferences.
• Maintain detailed test records in laboratory notebooks and relevant computer databases for establishing and defending intellectual property.
• Write reports for both internal and external customers.
• Implement new equipment and processes independently, capable of conducting appropriate qualification and validation activities.
• Execute projects with minimal supervision.
• Able to analyze data from the qualitative to the rigorously statistical and defend conclusions based on data.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

These skills and experiences will make you a good fit for this role
Education Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Chemistry or another relevant field.
Experience

• Experience in an analytical laboratory setting is not necessary, but helpful.

Knowledge/Skills

• Basic chemistry-laboratory skills.
• Background in chromatography preferred.
