The Master Scheduler is responsible for all aspects of production planning and scheduling of activities and material through the complete production cycle, including order and design release, fabrication, assembly, and test. This position works closely with sales administration, engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing management to ensure an effective flow of work in process to meet shipment schedules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the business unit scheduling to include, master scheduling, planning, order coordination, and operation integration.
  • Develop and establish effective work processes for production planning, including applicable scheduling and ERP systems maintenance of information.
  • Ownership of demand fulfillment planning and reporting as part of the business/revenue cycles. Works closely in support of the annual sales plan to determine and ensure appropriate takt times are set, capacity constraints are addressed, and lead time requirements are met.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize the detailed schedule of production orders/units as well as OEM contract manufacturers.
  • Coordinate activities cross-functionally across sales, engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing to ensure delivery to all schedules.
  • Prioritize operations based on internal and external requirements. Ensures the flow of material, parts, and assemblies between or within departments to meet schedule requirements.
  • Monitor internal schedules, supplier dates, and manufacturing reports to proactively identify potential problems and works with planners to ensure accurate and timely information is provided to key stakeholders.
  • Identify and provide solutions to mitigate risks and minimize disruption to production flow.
  • Identify, track, and communicate applicable metrics to understand business performance and improvement opportunities.
  • Provides reports to business management and other departments as required of production status, variance to schedule, issues, and other production planning information needed to make good business decisions.
  • Proactively implement continuous improvement of processes and systems used in planning and scheduling to improve adherence to production schedules.
  • Accountable for the implementation and sustainment of lean within areas of responsibility.
  • Accountable for ensuring all quality, regulatory, and ISO requirements are met.
  • Responsible to make sure appropriate actions are taken to meet all requirements, including stopping production if appropriate.
  • Drive expectations and accountability for direct reports through performance goals.
  • Ability to successfully work across the organization, while influencing change regardless of direct reporting relationship.
  • Provide leadership and partners with key stakeholders across the business unit to drive process improvement and meet business objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • APICS Certified, with demonstrated application of the APICS Body of Knowledge within past work experience.
  • Systems knowledge \xe2\x80\x93 design/selection/implementation (Materials \xe2\x80\x93 MRP, Inventory Optimization; S&OP / Demand Planning; Purchasing; Inventory Tracking \xe2\x80\x93 Voice, bar codes, RFID, etc.).
  • LEAN Training with practical application and leadership experience.
  • Multi-plant Management is preferred, where the focus is given on managing client/provider relationships between vertically integrated plants; JIT in a demand-driven / continuous flow environment.
  • Materials management experience in an environment including customized manufacturing, multi-level Bill of Material.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications as needed to satisfactorily perform work assignments \xe2\x80\x93 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint as well as the ability to learn company enterprise systems as needed.
  • Must be organized, able to prioritize, set and keep deadlines, change direction quickly, and adapt to various work environments easily.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written, including following instructions.
  • Must be able to work effectively in group settings through collaborative, solutions-oriented, and win-win approaches.
  • Develop presentations to be delivered to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Apply advanced mathematical concepts like quadratic equations and basic logic functions such as if-then-else statements.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Education and/or Experience:
  • 5 - 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience with inventory management, materials, purchasing, supply chain, or related functions.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degrees in Materials, Supply Chain, Business, or related field required \xe2\x80\x93 advanced degree is preferred.
