Position Title: Scale House Operator

Quality Enterprises is looking for a Scale House Operator to join our team. The Scale House Operator is responsible for operating weigh scales, scale computer, data entry, and record keeping. An operator also screens and records outgoing loads at the scale house and directs vehicles entering and leaving the facility.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with scale house operations preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Moves trucks through the scale in a timely manner while checking for accuracy on each ticket, ensuring the correct payment method.
• Ensures new customer applications are filled out properly before submitting to accounting.
• Receives confirmation dispatch emails from each customer to ensure proper authorization for each account.
• Ensures trucks are properly positioned on scale for accurate weighing.
• Inspects each truck load for proper materials.
• Uses computer software to process proper material and ensures that PO numbers are assigned for each load.
• Accurately performs data entry ensuring correct payment methods, project names, and prices of materials; creates daily reports.
• Uses computer software to obtain customer vehicle weights, record weights, and produce scale tickets for customers.
• Communicates with customers and vendors to exchange information regarding products, materials, and services.
• Maintains a safe work environment, ensuring truck drivers are using correct PPE on site and following all posted rules; reports all safety concerns to foreman and/or manager.
• Works with foreman/manager to ensure all MSHA paperwork is up to date.
• Ensure that all visitors are signed in and out of mine office and have proper site-specific hazard training.
• Manages quantities of approved materials & stockpiles leaving the mine.
• Maintains the scale house by cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, and emptying trash.
• Orders supplies as needed.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to perform basic computer functions and operate computer software.
• Basic mathematical skills, including basic arithmetic functions and common units of measurements.
• Above average verbal and written English skills required.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand, sit, walk, reach, and lift.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
