Two Rivers Lumber in Kellyton, AL is looking for a skilled Saw filer. The primary function is to ensure the sawmill and planer mills always have a supply of sharp saws.

Responsibilities

The primary function is to ensure the sawmill and planer mills always have a supply of sharp saws Key Functions: The Saw Filer will be responsible for filing room activities consisting of, but not limited to: Ensuring the sawmill always has a supply of sharp saws Stellite, repair and weld in broken teeth Babbitt mill chipper knives Assisting in saw changes Inspect equipment for signs of wear, damage or unsafe conditions Identify quality and efficiency problems Housekeeping Maintenance of filing room equipment Sawmill machine alignment Other work processes as necessary Example: identifying signs of wear, damage or unsafe conditions Knowledgeable with making repairs as needed

Qualifications

Experience leveling, tensioning, grinding, welding and fitting saws Stellite and/or Swedge experience with thin kerf-guided saw systems Experienced with sawmill mechanics, saw change-outs, Bandmill alignment such as crossline between guides and wheels Experience in grinding band mills Experience in developing PMs for equipment Experience with equipment inspection High School Diploma or GED required Willingness to work any shift and weekends Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
