Compensation for this position starts at $73,400 annually and may increase with relevant work experience and transferrable skills

The Manager/Mortgage Sales/South is charged with leading the delivery of exceptional member and employee experiences. This leader advocates, nurtures, and guides their team to promote and deliver on our Member Engagement Manifesto, while removing obstacles and barriers to excellence. They lead with head and heart to not only cultivate a culture where member experience is the core, but also the team member experience. As such, you set the tone - for performance. Responsible for managing the South district mortgage origination team; organizes and directs operations of originations; sets strategies to achieve personal origination and team goals; and ensures that all operations related to mortgage sales are compliant with all regulations and meet member experience expectations at all times.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

We also require, as a minimum standard, that all team members have the ability to accept direction and constructive criticism from supervisors and managers.

  • Manage hiring, performance, development, and coaching of team members.
  • Complete monthly Connect 1:1 and semi-annual Performance Plan Reviews to encourage growth, clarify expectations and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Motivate the team to achieve individual and company production goals.
  • Monitor compensation of team members in relation to minimum production, individual goals, and department goals.
  • Identify new business opportunities to aid in meeting team production goals.
  • Facilitate/Partner in/Attend networking and community events to increase the credit union\xe2\x80\x99s visibility, expand referral network and attract new mortgage business.
  • Implement enhancements to the mortgage experience continually.
  • Partner with operations to facilitate an exceptional member experience throughout the residential lending process.
  • Recommend workflow improvements to streamline processes.
  • Leverage problem solving and strong communication skills in managing complex file situations with the team; ensure understanding of lending philosophy, agency guidelines and regulatory/compliance details.
  • Escalate applications to Director as needed along with recommendation on next steps.
  • Create and maintain written procedures and reference materials.
  • Facilitate training of technology related enhancements to better serve members and team members.
  • Connect with the Experience Teams to provide market updates, increase awareness and maximize opportunities for referrals.
  • Execute delegated authority properly regarding price/fee waivers and rate extensions.
  • Support director in development of budgeting and bill payment.
  • Perform other duties as directed by leadership.



Qualifications Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of mortgage sales experience.
  • 1-3 years of leadership experience.
  • Ability to hire, train, develop and retain qualified staff.
  • Ability to motivate a team to achieve goals.
  • Ability to interact positively with leadership, coworkers, realtors and members to promote a team effort and maintain a positive attitude under extreme pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to maintain NMLS.

Working Conditions:

Work requires hours outside of the normal work time. In-office working conditions are normal. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, such as robbery. Receives detailed instructions and security procedures on an annual basis to minimize risk. Lighting, temperature, audio, and work space are all sufficient. Work requires the ability to constantly operate a computer and the ability to read, type, and communicate.
