The Role at a Glance

We are excited to bring on a Sales Intern to join our 2024 Summer cohort.

As a Sales Coordinator Intern you will work within our Sales Support organization. This team supports the sales process by partnering with our Sales Team on a wide variety of activity which includes the evaluation of Requests For Proposal in preparation for submission to Underwriting, sold case review/lock down, as well as proactive engagement with our Broker partners.

What you\'ll be doing

  • You will gather, evaluate and assess information to complete request for proposals (RFPs), potential clients and sold cases for groups in the 100+ lives segment by partnering directly with your Sales Rep, Underwriter, and broker.
  • You will influence market growth with RFP accuracy and exceptional sold case submissions by being knowledgeable and thorough with daily activities.
  • You will coordinate and perform pre and post sale activities in partnership with marketing, underwriting, IT, billing, compliance and legal. In addition, you will support benefit fair activities, including creating benefit summaries and plan grids tailored to clients specific plan and design rates.
  • You will complete amendments as well as necessary audits of contracts to ensure accuracy.
  • You will build trusting relationships with our internal and external partners to maintain a valuable marketplace presence and uphold our commitment to the customer.
  • You will identify, recommend and champion process improvements and organizational initiatives to positively influence the team.
What we\'re looking for

Must-haves:
  • College rising- junior or senior
  • Must have availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, between the dates of June 5, 2024 - August 4, 2024.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Nice-to-haves:
  • Demonstrates solid relationship management skills with internal and/or external clients (e.g. management, peers, colleagues, customers, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail
  • Sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Pay Rate: $19/hr

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln\'s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln\'s standard benefits package.
