SALES ARCHITECT

COLUMBUS, OHIO

DIRECT HIRE

The

Sales Architect

will play a critical role in bridging the gap between customer needs and technical solutions. You will work closely with our sales team and clients to design and propose tailored technology solutions across a broad range of platforms and products. Your expertise in IBM and complementary technologies will help drive sales engagements and ensure client success.

Key Responsibilities



Collaborate with sales, technical, and delivery teams to understand client business goals and architect solutions. Lead pre-sales technical discussions and presentations with clients and prospects. Design and propose scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions using technologies including (but not limited to) IBM, Red Hat, and third-party platforms. Prepare Statements of Work (SOWs), technical documentation, and solution blueprints. Stay current on emerging technologies, product offerings, and market trends. Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams to support business development. Participate in RFP/RFI responses and solution presentations.

Required Skills & Qualifications



Candidates must have hands-on experience with

two

of the following technologies and the ability to understand and design around others:

Primary Solution Areas:



Red Hat OpenShift / Kubernetes (container platforms)

IBM Storage, IBM Power Systems

IBM Watsonx / AI platforms - Orchestrate

IBM Cloud, Power VS (Virtual Servers),

Virtual Tape Libraries (Cybernetics / FalconStor)

HashiCorp (Terraform, Vault, etc.)

IBM Security tools: Guardium, Defender

Networking (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco - design & support)

Apptio, Turbonomic - IT optimization platforms


General Requirements:



Proven experience as a Pre-Sales Engineer, Sales Architect, Solutions Architect, or similar role. Strong communication skills to convey complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. Strong documentation and presentation skills. Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings or events.

Preferred Qualifications



IBM or Red Hat Certifications (e.g., RHCE, IBM Certified Solution Architect). Experience working with MSPs, VARs, or in a consulting environment. Familiarity with ITIL, DevOps, or Agile methodologies. Prior experience with IBM licensing, support models, or partner programs.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
