Registered Nurse
to provide comprehensive professional nursing care during the overnight shift in our long-term care setting. In this vital role, you will apply the
nursing process
--assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation--to deliver
individualized care
to residents. You will collaborate with the inter-disciplinary team, manage care coordination, and ensure adherence to the full scope of professional nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities
Nursing Process Utilization:
Expertly utilize the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care for residents, covering all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
Collaboration and Planning:
Actively collaborate with residents, family members, providers, and other colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of care.
Clinical Excellence:
Demonstrate professional competency, practicing within the full scope of nursing expertise, and applying appropriate age- and population-specific standards in the clinical setting.
Care Coordination and Education:
Assume responsibility for the coordination of care, resident assessment, essential
resident education
, and various other necessary nursing interventions.
Leadership and Delegation:
May serve in the capacity of a
charge nurse
, competently
delegating appropriate tasks
to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel. Delegation must align with job descriptions, skills, resident care needs, and the delegate's competence level.
Supervision and Support:
Provide adequate assistance and support to delegated staff to ensure the
safe, reliable administration of resident care
and the swift resolution of any care or service concerns.
Professional Compliance:
Function strictly within the
scopes and standards of nursing practice
as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in the state of practice and licensure, recognizing the American Nurses Association's guidelines as the foundation for professional conduct.
Requirements
License:
Currently holds an
unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possesses multi-state licensure privileges if practicing in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
Competency:
Obtain and subsequently maintain all required department-specific competencies and certifications.
Shift Availability:
Must be available for
12-hour Night Shifts
and be prepared for
rotating weekend and holiday schedules
.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program (e.g., Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing).
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
