We are searching for a Per Diem Registered Nurse to perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients, participating in patient and family teaching and providing leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served. May assume Charge responsibility for assigned personnel and activities as required or directed.

Welcome to Atwood 3! This is a 45-bed primary surgical nursing unit with subspecialties of general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, gynecology, urology and vascular surgeries along with interventional radiology procedures. We are also a bariatric surgical center of excellence. Our patient population is primarily elective surgical cases that we receive from the recovery room and ranges in age from pediatric through geriatric. We provide basic arrhythmia detection via wireless Telemetry for the surgical patient population. Our average length of stay is 3 days.

Location: Charlton Memorial Hospital \xe2\x80\x93 Fall River, MA OR Tobey Hospital \xe2\x80\x93 Wareham, MA

Hours: Per Diem, Unit Based, Low Option

Shift: Low Option - Selects 48 hours to work per six week schedule. Selects TWO weekend shifts per six week schedule. Selects one major winter (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years) and one major summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day).

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required.
  • Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • 2-4 years of experience is required.
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID-19 and provide required vaccination documentation, unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
