Responsibilities:

The Surgery Clinic Nurse Navigator acts as a consultant, facilitator, practitioner and educator to the in the clinic. Responsibilities include education of patient, family and staff providing care to the patient, coordination of all aspects of care, advocacy on behalf of the patient, communication with all appropriate team members , with the patient and family where appropriate, and serve as a resource to staff caring for the patient. Performs other duties as assigned

What Qualifications You Will Need:
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current LA RN license or Compact RN license and CPR certification.
  • Education: Bachelor of Nursing
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in clinical area of assignment. Oncology Experience Preferred.
  • Special qualifications: Must be able to successfully complete established competencies for the position within designated probationary period. Demonstrated patient teaching skills and compliance with protocol management of patients.
  • Hours of work: Monday- Friday
  • Requires excellent leadership, organizational, written, and verbal communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work in a self-directed environment, with an ability to work with and lead teams
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Requires problem solving, decision making and critical thinking
