Position Summary

The RN CVOR will provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures. This role involves both scrub and circulating nurse responsibilities, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and patient care in the operating room.

Key Responsibilities

Perform scrub functions, including selection, handling, and management of surgical instruments and supplies during cardiovascular procedures. Perform circulating functions, including monitoring, documenting, and communicating patient condition throughout surgical procedures. Manage and coordinate overall nursing care of patients before, during, and after surgery. Assist the operating surgeon with surgical tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure. Ensure accurate patient positioning and maintain sterile techniques. Prepare operating rooms, ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are sterile, functional, and properly arranged. Collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams to provide safe and effective patient care. Participate in maintaining operating room inventory and ensure timely availability of supplies.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of recent CVOR nursing experience required.

Education:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).

Licensure:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana (or compact state eligibility).

Certifications:

+ BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
+ ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Preferred
+ CNOR - Preferred

Compensation

Pay Rate:

$49.14 per hour (Contract)

Work Environment

Hospital-based surgical setting. May require standing for extended periods and handling surgical equipment. * Must adhere to all infection control and safety protocols.
