Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate

Registered Nurse (RN)

to join our

Cardiac Neuro (Stroke Unit)

team in Sanford, FL. The RN will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with cardiac and neurological conditions, including stroke patients. This role requires strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills to manage complex patients in collaboration with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor patient conditions, responding promptly to any changes. Analyze assessment data to establish nursing diagnoses and develop individualized care plans. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate effective patient care. Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely. Monitor vital signs and recognize life-threatening changes requiring immediate intervention. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care. Serve as an advocate for patient safety and rights within the care team. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures. Use time, supplies, and equipment efficiently to support quality patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

Experience:

+ 1 year of Recent (within the last year or 2) Acute Care RN experience Preferred.
+ Candidates with

acute rehab experience

(Kindred, Encompass, HealthSouth, Select Specialty) may be considered if comfortable working in a stroke unit.
+

Telemetry experience required.

Licensure:

+ Active

Florida RN license

or

multistate compact RN license

required.
+ Compact license holders must obtain a Florida RN license within

60 days

of relocation.

Education:

+ Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN or Diploma required).
+

BSN preferred.

Certifications:

+

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS):

within 30 days of employment start.
+

Basic Life Support (BLS)

AHA within 30 days.
+

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

AHA within 6 months.
