Position Overview

The Store Manager at Smoke N Puff is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the retail store, ensuring smooth workflow, compliance with state and local regulations, excellent customer service, and achieving sales targets. The manager will lead the team by example, ensuring staff are well-trained, motivated, and committed to providing a high-quality retail experience.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Compliance

Oversee daily store operations, including opening, closing, and cash handling procedures. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding tobacco and vape sales (including ID checks and age restrictions). Maintain a clean, organized, and professional store environment that reflects the Smoke N Puff brand. Manage stock levels, inventory counts, and ordering to prevent shortages or overstocking.

Sales & Customer Service

Monitor sales goals and create strategies to drive revenue growth. Provide excellent customer service, handling inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly. Train staff on upselling, product knowledge, and customer engagement techniques.

Staff Management

Recruit, hire, train, and supervise store employees. Create staff schedules to ensure proper coverage and manage payroll hours effectively. Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations. Enforce company policies, including attendance, behavior, and dress code.
Financial & Administrative

Accurately track daily sales, deposits, and financial reporting. Safeguard company assets, including cash, inventory, and equipment. Prepare reports on store performance and submit to ownership/management as required.
Leadership & Growth

Act as the main point of contact between ownership and store staff. Promote a positive work environment, motivating employees to achieve high performance. Identify opportunities for business growth (new products, promotions, customer loyalty strategies).

Qualifications

Previous retail management experience preferred, ideally in tobacco, vape, or convenience retail. Strong leadership and communication skills. Knowledge of retail operations, cash handling, and inventory systems. Ability to enforce compliance with all state laws regarding tobacco/vape sales. Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. Must be 21 years of age or older.
