The primary objective of the Reliability Manager is to provide leadership, coaching and direction to all personnel assigned. This includes the oversight of all planning and scheduling, preventive maintenance routines, and predictive maintenance activities. This must be approached in a structured way that will ensure the plant equipment is operating at a high degree of reliability while meeting budgeted production volumes, quality targets and maintenance budgeted costs. The maintenance of all plant equipment must be performed in a manner that provides reliability in the present while yielding reasonable life cycle costs.

This position is based at our cement operation in Nazareth, PA.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Oversees all activities within the planning and scheduling..
  • Provides guidance and priorities for Reliability Engineer
  • Assists the Staff in the development of their annual goals and objectives.
  • Provides feedback to direct reports on a regular basis .
  • Ensures a safe work practices are followed.
Planning & Scheduling
  • Advises Plant Manager/Maintenance Manager in all aspects of plant equipment reliability and function.
  • Directs the Maintenance Planner(s) to ensure the backlog is managed and controlled.
  • Consults with the Maintenance Planner(s) to ensure priorities are properly assigned.
  • Ensures BOMs are entered into SAP
  • Monitors the development of the Annual Shutdown Plan.
  • Provides input to Maintenance Manager for Site Master Plan
  • Monitors and oversees the optimization of the spare parts inventory.
Coordination & Optimization
  • Develops a good working relationship with the Operations Department to ensure teamwork and harmony.
  • Conducts regular meetings to provide alignment with reliability goals with all employees.
  • Participates in all the activities of the Reliability Team RCAs, Project meetings.
  • Understands the Quality targets and is aware of the role maintenance plays in achieving the goals.
Analysis & Strategy
  • Reviews and provides feedback on maintenance plans (daily, weekly, master)
  • Reviews the equipment downtime data to provide focus on problem areas.
  • Develops plans to eliminate or deal with the \xe2\x80\x9cbad actors\xe2\x80\x9d.
  • Provides oversight to ChM programs
  • Develops and monitors the Reliability goals and objectives.
  • Leads the Equipment Condition Assessments and participates in the updates.
  • Reviews the Equipment Risk and develops plans to mitigate risk.
  • Reviews the PM Program to ensure proper content and frequency.
Budget & Financials
  • Provides budget input to Maintenance Manager
  • Assists in the development and documentation of Capital expenditure requests.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in engineering preferred
  • Prior experience in a maintenance organization required. Experience at the Planner, Manager or Supervisor level preferred
  • Must be well versed in and demonstrate all aspects of plant safety.
  • Must be able to function as a team member.
  • Must be familiar with Root Cause Analysis Techniques
  • Must be able to coach/mentor employee
  • Must possess a high level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be familiar with all types of heavy industrial equipment; cement equipment preferred
  • Must have good organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to set priorities and evaluate financial impact. Prior budget experience preferred
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management, including developing and presenting to senior leadership
  • Is familiar with Environmental laws and their effect on the plant equipment and operation.
Work Environment

Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
