The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of patient care for an assigned group of patients, and for directing and coordinating all nursing care according to established standards of practice. Uses the nursing process to assess needs, plan care, implement the plan, and evaluate the patient\'s responses and progress towards goals. Collaborates with colleagues, physicians, members of the healthcare team, and the patient and family to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care delivery. Contributes to the overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Appropriately delegates nursing tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel. Demonstrates clinical leadership skills and professional accountability.

Work Hours/Shift:

Full time 40hrs (Typically 830am-5pm) Office location: Hartford

You Will Be Responsible For :

Exceptional Patient Care : Provides support to the physicians in managing complex patients. Assesses patients for acuity and anticipates treatment plan. Recognizes urgent/emergent situations. Takes a lead role in initiating emergency response, treatment and stabilization of the patients. Performs telephone triage as designated by department.

Excellent Communicator : Acts as liaison/resource for patients to providers within the department. Acts as liaison between practices, departments, hospitals and home care.

Excellent Educator:

Technical Familiarity: Assists providers with special exams and procedures. Properly administers oral and/or injectable immunizations/medications within scope of practice and department protocol.

Active Teamwork : Serves as a clinical resource to medical assisting, LPN staff and business staff.

Requirements :

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BS in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.

Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in Connecticut.

BLS certification required. National certification in area of specialty preferred.

Familiarity with computer-based applications (E-MAR, clinical documentation), e-mail, and standard applications.
