Responsibilities

The House Supervisor will demonstrate leadership skills, skills in measuring, assessing, and improving organizational performance, and will comply with health and safety standards and guidelines. The House Supervisors applies the nursing process to maximize the health status of the patients of Mayo Clinic Health System, within the parameters of hospital policy and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act. The Nursing Supervisor contributes to the achievement of the mission of Mayo Clinic Health System and the Department of Nursing by acting in these roles: representative of the nursing profession, oversight of the organization, coordinator of resources, and representative of human resources.
This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Holders of F1 status eligible for post-completion OPT are welcome to apply. This role is NOT eligible to participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience Required: (Education Requirements and Experience):
Graduate of a nursing program. All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date of April 1, 2020 and after must provide documented evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date. All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date prior to April 1, 2020 must provide documented evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing program as stipulated by the degree requirement program in place at time of hire.

Two years hospital clinical experience within the last five years.

Baccalaureate degree preferred. Prior experience with electronic medical records preferred. Requires a self-motivated, well-organized individual who can perform a wide variety of tasks simultaneously. Must have strong communication and human relation skill. Excellent Communication skills; experience working in a team environment; Computer skills; ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends and on-call; ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting; demonstrated leadership; effective communicator and excellent critical thinking skills. Recommended additional certifications: Med Surg.

License or certification:

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin. Certification Completion of and maintain: BLS/Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification upon hire.

Pediatric Advanced Life certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification; TNCC, OPO certification; Avade Level 3 course may be required within 6 months of hire.
