MaineHealth's Endocrinology and Diabetes outpatient care is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Full- Time, Day shift, position. Our Ideal Registered Nurse will hold a BSN as well as two or more years' experience. This position will work closely with the physicians, patients with diabetes and their family members. This position does not require on call, weekends, or major holidays.
Summary:
The Registered Nurse - Diabetes Educator - MHMG role is responsible for nursing assessments, as well as assessing diabetes educational needs. Plans, implements and evaluates nursing care and diabetes education for patients with diabetes and their family members in both individual and group settings.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Completion of Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing required.
License/Certifications: Current Maine State Registered Nurse license required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Current Certification, or in process of achieving certification as a Diabetes Educator required.
Experience: Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse required.
Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Knowledge of diabetes disease process, lifestyle recommendations, pharmaceutical therapies and self-management practices.
