The Registered Nurse is responsible to provide nursing care and services in a manner consistent with the hospital's mission, vision, and ICARE values. In this role, the Registered Nurse will work with providers to provide patient assessments, treatment, testing, and education using established nursing procedures and techniques in our medical clinic.
Outpatient Specialty Clinic
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Collaborate and communicate with patients, providers, and staff as it relates to patient assessment, treatment, satisfaction, outcomes, quality, and education; coordinate patient and/or provider schedules as appropriate.
Rooms patients, documents chief complaint or reason for visit and details information for provider; obtains patient's weight and vital signs, reviews and updates patient's information.
Assists provider with examinations and procedures as requested while maintaining sterile field and managing instrument trays as appropriate; administers medication as ordered by provider.
Obtains blood samples and other specimens for lab testing as ordered by the provider; provides education and supportive services to patients; schedules diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as ordered.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements for all clinical nursing services and evidence-based practices.
Ensure all established policies, procedures, standards of practice, and conduct guidelines are followed in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations, and hospital policy.
Ensure all supplies, materials, and equipment inventories are maintained at appropriate levels to meet the demands of patient care, safety, utilization, and financial goals.
Monitor and evaluate processes and workflows; provides recommendations to optimize performance/outcomes; works with clinic team and hospital leadership to implement recommended strategies.
Maintains regular, predictable attendance according to hospital policy.
Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Missouri
Current BLS/CPR
Previous experience in surgical and clinic setting preferred
Ability to foster a positive team atmosphere through effective interpersonal skills
Able to effectively communicate both verbal and written format
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to use multiple electronic systems, software, internet, and computer skills
