Provides comprehensive direct and indirect patient care within a clinical setting. Effectively communicates with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary team members regarding changes in patient status, diagnostic findings, and presenting symptoms. Demonstrates prompt and accurate response to evolving patient conditions and treatment outcomes. Proficient in performing a wide range of general nursing duties to support optimal patient care.
Responsibilities:
Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments. This includes pediatric, geriatric, and the general population.
Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring patient responses.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care.
Demonstrates an ability to assist physicians with procedures and perform services requiring technical and manual skills
Educate patients and families on health management and treatment options.
Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Utilize EMR systems effectively for patient records and data management.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements
Maintain a current, unencumbered license from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing
At least (2) two years of experience in a Medical Unit setting required.
ACLS/BLS/PALS certification required
Proficient in professional nursing skills to provide quality care to patients
EHR charting documentation
Effective communication skills
