We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team in a school setting. The ideal candidate will assist in implementing behavior plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, supporting student goals, and collaborating with teachers and staff. Responsibilities include providing behavior management, data collection, and ensuring a positive learning environment. This role offers a balance between the responsibilities of a Teacher Assistant and a Lcertified RBT, supporting students' developmental needs within an educational framework.
Our program operates 12 months/year, Monday-Friday 8:00 am-3:30 pm.
Duties
Implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Supporting students with classroom activities and goals
Collecting and recording behavioral and progress data
Assisting teachers with classroom management and student support
Promoting positive, structured learning experiences
Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all students
Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in behavioral health practices.
Experience
Previous experience in behavioral therapy or a related field is preferred.
Strong background working with children, particularly those with autism or developmental disabilities.
Familiarity with special education practices
Experience in data collection methods related to behavior management is essential.
A commitment to ongoing learning about applied behavior analysis techniques and best practices in the field of behavioral health.
Applicants must love children, be nurturing, energetic, patient, and reliable. You will be assisting in classroom responsibilities including snack time, arts and crafts, sensory play, playground time, movement and other activities that focus on child development.
Paid Time Off: You will accumulate one hour of paid time off "PTO" for every thirty hours worked, up to a maximum of 56 hours per school year (July 1 to June 30) in accordance with New York State Sick Leave Policy.
Full time direct support staff are paid for holidays and school breaks.
