The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is looking for a talented, detail oriented individual to fill the role of Regional Supervisor in our Southern Region office in Cedar City. You would administer operations in the region, which includes managing the employees in the Wildlife, Aquatic, Habitat, Conservation Outreach, and Administrative Services sections, and ensure coordination with regional law enforcement personnel. Responsibilities also include fostering partnerships with conservation organizations, local elected officials and municipal representatives, and coordinating with area offices of the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, and the Natural Resource Conservation Service.

Responsibilities

As a Regional Supervisor, you will:
Supervise professional staff and support a team of employees in carrying out the performance standards, priorities, and expectations of the Wildlife, Aquatic, Habitat, Conservation Outreach, and Administrative Services sections.
Serve as staff to the Director's Office and as a member of the DWR's leadership team.
Ensure that performance plans established for regional staff include the accomplishment of section work plans and support for the DWR's strategic plan.
Plan, oversee, and evaluate the regional budget.
Establish a culture of teamwork and cooperation through effective coordination with all regional staff, the Salt Lake Office, and regional Law Enforcement Section staff.
Serve as executive secretary for the Regional Advisory Council (RAC) and attend Wildlife Board meetings to represent the RAC and DWR.
Provide administrative oversight for federal aid projects, cooperative agreements, and contracts.
Ensure adherence to applicable state statutes and to department and division policies and procedures.
Qualifications
------------------
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in wildlife biology, a relevant natural resource management field, public administration, or a closely related field; or equivalent directly related work experience.
At least five years of demonstrated successful work experience in a wildlife-related field.
Supervisory experience and experience in personnel management.
Budget management experience, including an understanding of the principles and practices related to building and
managing a budget. Demonstrated ability to build collaborative, solution-oriented partnerships and work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, including public speaking.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
At least ten years of demonstrated successful work experience in a wildlife-related field.
A master's degree in wildlife biology, a relevant natural resource management field, public administration, or a closely related field.
Ability to develop creative and pragmatic solutions to problems and improve processes.
Practical experience in the political aspects--both internal and external--of natural resource management.

Working Conditions:
The work environment involves typical office conditions, including adequate lighting, heating, and ventilation. Employees are expected to adhere to standard office safety practices, such as the safe operation of equipment, awareness of potential trip and fall hazards, and compliance with fire safety regulations.
While the position primarily involves sedentary work, there may be occasional requirements for walking, standing, bending, carrying light objects, and operating a motor vehicle. No specific or unusual physical demands are typically associated with this role.
Other Requirements:
The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday.
Telework options may be available.
This is a full-time position that may necessitate occasional work outside of regular business hours, including evenings, weekends, and during emergency situations. Occasional overnight travel within Utah and, at times, out of state is required for purposes such as attending meetings and conferences, and supporting wildlife management projects.
A valid driver's license is required.
