Job Post: Regional Sales Manager (Direct Operations)
About the Role
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) acts as the primary multi-unit leader for a region comprised of three districts. You are the direct bridge between ownership and the stores.
In this flattened structure, you will not manage middle-management bureaucrats; instead, you will lead a team of Store Managers and collaborate with "Market Captains" (Hybrid Senior Managers) who run flagship locations while assisting you with regional training and support. You must be a "road warrior"--capable of high-level strategy but willing to dive into the details of store operations, hiring, and inventory auditing.
Responsibilities
Direct Multi-Unit Operations (Absorbed ASM Duties)
Field Leadership: Conduct regular rotation visits across all three districts. You are the primary "boots on the ground" leader.
Operational Compliance: personally verify opening/closing procedures, merchandising standards, and mystery shop readiness during visits.
Inventory Audits: Perform random cash drawer counts and physical inventory audits. You are directly responsible for investigating variances and enforcing consequences for shrink.
Hiring & Staffing: You are the primary hiring manager for the region. You will conduct final interviews for all key staff and ensure all stores meet headcount requirements.
Managing the "Hybrid" Support Team
Leverage Market Captains: Delegate tactical tasks (e.g., new hire shadowing, peer-to-peer roleplays, emergency store coverage) to your Market Captains/Senior Managers.
Balance Workloads: Ensure your Market Captains are supporting the region without neglecting the performance of their own home store.
Train the Trainers: You are responsible for the region's training output. You must ensure your Market Captains are teaching the correct sales behaviors to the rest of the staff.
Sales Strategy & Performance
KPI Ownership: Drive regional targets for Activations, Accessories, and Value-Added Services. You are responsible for the aggregate performance of all three districts.
Corrective Action: Identify low-performing stores (and managers) and implement Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) directly.
P&L Management: Manage labor hours across the region to maximize profitability. Approve schedule transfers between stores to ensure coverage.
Administrative & Logistics
Escalations: Serve as the primary point of contact for landlord issues, serious customer escalations, and system failures across the region.
Stock Balancing: Physically manage or coordinate the transfer of inventory (phones/accessories) between districts to prevent stock-outs.
How You Will Work With "Market Captains"
You set the strategy and goals.
They model the behavior in their own stores and assist you with on-boarding new hires in neighboring stores.
You handle the discipline and policy enforcement; they handle the peer mentorship.
Experience Required
3-5+ years of multi-unit retail management is essential. (Since there is no middle layer, you must know how to manage time across a large geography).
"Player-Coach" Mentality: Willingness to jump behind the counter and sell to demonstrate techniques. This is not a "work from home" job.
Crisis Management: Ability to solve staffing emergencies across multiple districts instantly.
Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in POS systems and Excel for analyzing regional sales reports.
Reliable Transportation: High travel requirement. You will be driving between three districts constantly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
Benefits:
Company car
Employee discount
Health insurance
Life insurance
Paid time off
Work Location: In person
