REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL PROJECTS & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

JOB DUTIES

The Regional Director of Financial Projects & Process Improvement employs process improvement techniques including Lean, Six Sigma, and others to collect and analyze, process data, identify opportunities. The director also develops solutions, implements improvements and helps operational management to ensure sustainability. In addition, this individual will assist in the creation of metrics to monitor performance, operational improvements and financial benefit.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and map processes from beginning to end within the Revenue Cycle and Finance departments
  • Identify opportunities and initiate projects to reduce cost and improve operational efficiencies
  • Streamline and improve processes within these departments by identifying non-value-added steps and removing waste, capturing and analyzing data, and implementing technology solutions (e.g., AI, software)
  • Build effective relationships and communicate regularly with clinical and operational leaders, team members and other stakeholders about project status, activities and progress
  • Manage project timelines and updates to leadership, ensuring that projects deliver on time, accurately, and with the desired outcome
  • Utilize common process improvement concepts and templates, including but not limited to: project charters, baseline assessments, run chart analysis, Pareto analysis, process mapping, SIROC, 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams.
EDUCATION:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in accounting, finance or related business field. Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Five (5) years of experience in accounting, revenue cycle, finance, process improvement or project management, with a minimum of two (2) years in a hospital setting.
  • Relevant work experience and training facilitating process/performance management projects required, including application of Lean concepts and methods, specifically in healthcare. Lean Six Sigma certification or Process Improvement training and Project Management certifications preferred.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead projects and teams and collaborate productively on highly-complex projects with key personnel at all professional and technical levels; ability to facilitate constructive dialogue and effective problem-solving approaches
  • Experience/knowledgeable in key components of hospital revenue cycle (e.g., patient access, revenue integrity, billing, coding, denials management) preferred.
  • Strong data processing, analytical, problem solving, organizational and critical thinking skills; can synthesize data/information into action
  • Collaborative and able to work cohesively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
MEDICAL EXAMINATION REQUIREMENT: Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
