Position Summary





The

Regional Business Development

Manager will be responsible for driving growth in admissions and market share for the facility. This role involves identifying, cultivating, and securing new referral sources (hospitals, physician groups, home health agencies, case managers), nurturing existing relationships, analyzing market opportunities, and developing strategic business plans to support our growth objectives.



This is a key role bridging clinical operations, sales, and strategic outreach. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly relational, data-driven, and comfortable engaging with senior healthcare executives and providers.



Key Responsibilities





Develop and execute a regional business development strategy for the Worcester market and surrounding catchment areas.



Identify and target key referral sources: acute care hospitals, physician practices, outpatient clinics, home health agencies, discharge planners, case managers, and managed care organizations.



Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources--on-site visits, presentations, networking events, and educational programming.



Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Admissions, Clinical, Marketing, Executive Team) to ensure smooth referral transitions and optimal revenue capture.



Track and analyze key metrics (referral volume, conversion rates, length of stay, payer mix, market share) and develop actionable plans for performance improvement.



Conduct competitive market analysis: referral patterns, competitor services, unmet needs, regional trends in skilled nursing/rehab market.



Prepare and present quarterly business reviews and growth forecasts to leadership.



Support marketing efforts: speak at community/industry events, represent the facility, co-develop collateral/materials with marketing team.



Ensure compliance with regulations, accuracy of data, and integrity of business practices in line with post-acute care standards and facility policy.



Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes (e.g., Medicare/Medicaid reform, value-based care models), and evolving needs of referral partners.



Qualifications





Bachelor's degree required; Master's in Health Administration, Business, or relevant field preferred.



Minimum of 5 years of business development/sales experience in post-acute care, skilled nursing facility (SNF), hospital, home health, or managed care environment; experience with skilled nursing/rehabilitation services strongly preferred.



Demonstrated track record of achieving growth targets, building high-value relationships in the healthcare space, and managing complex sales cycles.



Strong analytical skills: comfortable interpreting data, developing insights, and creating actionable strategies.



Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable speaking with C-suite, physicians, clinical leaders, and referral sources.



Ability to travel frequently within the region, attend industry events, and commit to flexible schedule (including occasional evenings/weekends for events).



Knowledge of reimbursement models (Medicare, Medicaid, managed care), length-of-stay trends, skilled nursing facility dynamics a plus.



Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.



Valid driver's license, reliable transportation required.
