  • Is reliable, arrives on time and is able to open and close the gym independently for each shift.
  • Enjoys frequent interactions with the public and has a positive/outgoing work attitude.
  • Has good customer service skills.
  • Is flexible working varied shifts when necessary.
  • Keeps facility clean and safe for all patrons.
  • Contributes to the success of the Department.
WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION
This position would be seasonal and work a flexible schedule (September through April). Hours would vary (Monday through Saturday) 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. depending on scheduled rentals and activities taking place at the gym.
Mt. Jumbo Gym is located at 909 Fourth Street in Douglas.

Typical Responsibilities

Opening and closing of Mt. Jumbo Gym facility, preparing the facility for specialty rentals, assisting the renters with equipment needs, responding to emergencies and supervising participants to the facility to ensure safety. Providing information to customers and completing light cleaning of equipment and office/gym space. Explain and enforce facility rules and restrictions of participants. All employees are expected to deliver outstanding customer service.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure:

CPR/First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment

Note: Under Alaska Statute 12.62.160 (9) Appointments to this position are offered conditionally, pending the results of a criminal records report (Non-FBI). Human Resources evaluates the results to ensure the applicant does not have any convictions that result in a direct nexus to the primary duties involving supervising minors.
