CCAR is looking to hire

Recovery Coaches

to provide recovery coaching services to young people ages 14-17 with substance use disorders and possibly co-occurring mental health conditions. Services will be delivered in the Western region of the State of Connecticut. The Recovery Coach will serve as a motivator, recovery resource broker, ally, and liaison, supporting youth and their families in navigating recovery pathways and connecting them to a network of care.



Note: This is a pilot program in collaboration with the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Contracted period 1/1/26 - 6/30/27.



Duties and Responsibilities:



Provide recovery coaching to youth. Establish and maintain relationships with local hospitals, community behavioral health organizations, DCF Area Offices, Youth Diversion Teams, and the Judicial Branch. Facilitate timely referrals into treatment and recovery support services. Connect youth to a larger community of care, including education, healthcare, and positive social supports. Maintain consistent contact with youth through recovery coaching sessions, check-ins, and engagement activities. Partner with youth to develop and update individualized Recovery Wellness Plans that are strength-based, culturally responsive, and youth-driven. Educate and support family members as requested by the youth. Serve as a recovery ambassador and promote the message, values, and services of CCAR. Participate in initial and ongoing training, education, and performance support, including Youth Peer Curriculum training and progress toward certification. Complete required documentation, including recovery support plans, and reporting as required by CCAR and/or partnering agencies. Work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends to meet the needs of youth and families. Travel throughout the region as required. Other duties as required.

Qualifications:



Experience with the addiction recovery process. Experience working with the youth population. Understanding of medication-assisted recovery and practices. Familiarity with local support services, resources and recovery community. Capability of building an effective coach-recoveree relationship. Demonstrated skill in actively listening, asking good questions, awareness of self and treating people as resources. Understanding of and ability to maintain appropriate boundaries. Ability to work within hospital and community health settings. Availability to work different shifts as necessary. Cross-cultural skills, and experience with culturally diverse populations. Bilingual abilities are a plus. A valid driver's license, insurance and reliable vehicle required. Strong customer service ethic. Recovery Coach Professional (RCP) designation or in process to earn designation.
